Cerebral Palsy Family Support Network

A site I created as my daughter has Cerebral Palsy and I found it very difficult to find information when having to deal with local Schools, County, State and Federal agencies and get the information I required. My hope is to have a comprehensive list of informational and advocacy sites listed and give people with disabilities a place to vent and help each other through their stories and the Forums and Chat pages.

This site grew out of the Cerebral Palsy site mentioned above. It is my local Pierce County WA. contribution to the National site.

Tamicraft

My original site that was supposed to be a crafts site for the wife to sellher various Crafts on. She never got it together and kept doing Craft fairs. She has now begun a new venture so I have to revamp the site again. It has under gone many changes but in time I hope to have a comprehensive list of crafts and we also use it to sell our embroidery business. Though we seldom make any sales off the site. I am currently trying to transform it into a Crafts site with free patterns and tips for craft ideas.

The wife and I spent quite a bit of time getting this site up. Not so much for sales off the site as a place to store pics for our ebay sales. Though we do sell off the site it seldom makes us more that the cost of web hosting. But at least it pays for all the other sites.

Robert wrote a Science Fiction trilogy while being laid up. It took 4 years to complete and he has for sale Book 1 of the trilogy HERE 

He is awaiting editing and copyrights on books 2 & 3 before sending them to the publisher. Book 1 can stand alone and is a complete novel of 237 pages and 135,000+ words in PDF format.

 It is one third the price that the publisher wants to sell it for and though it has not had its final editing I have had it copyrighted through the U.S. copyrights office and have placed it up for sale pending the copyrights on books 2 & 3. Then I will place the trilogy with a publisher I've been in contact with. The publisher has already informed me that the price (depending on final page count after editing ) will be around the $17.95 area per book. I sell it for just $6.95 as a PDF download.

Most everything is in a zip format of some type. You will need to download the item to your computer and then unzip it. If you do not have an unzip program there are quite a few on the web that are free to use on a trial basis but here is one that is not only free but fully functional with no trial. Later when you create your own content to sell you can use it to zip the contents in a folder for download from your site.

OK. Once you download the file create a new folder on your desktop and name it something you will recognize. I usually use the zip folder name or a portion of it. Now open the zip folder and select 'extract all to' and send everything to the folder you created. Now you can view the contents.

Most everything is in folders and you need to 'drill down' through the folders to find everything. Along the way you will most likely encounter new zip files and just do the same as you did previously by creating a new folder in the folder you are in and name it something and extract the zip to the new folder. You may have to do this several times in order to have access to everything.

If you ever plan on reselling anything do not delete the zip files as if you do you will have to re-zip them. Or the PDF files as Adobe charges something like $700.00 for their fully functional PDF word processor.

BUT. Here is a fully functional word processor that tops Microsoft Word and has most everything MS OFFICE has and then some. The names are changed, they're not PowerPoint and Excel and Access and the rest but they do the same thing and most often more. AND one of the things this little baby does that Word doesn't is export in PDF format. Yes that is right. You can create a doc in this app and export it in PDF which is the industry standard and anyone with a free copy of Adobe Acrobat reader can open the files. Don't limit your market to only those who have MS WORD or dumb it down to simple .txt format, but let the entire world be able to get whatever you write in a format they can access. You can also export in xhtml but the really cool thing here is everything MS Office can do this can do too and most often better and it is easy to transfer files between the two so you can download it and play with it while you still use Word until you are comfortable enough to move over. I use both depending on what I want to do. It is hard to give up Word after almost 10 years but the day is drawing near.

Now if you  have an .exe file as in sitewizard just install it like any other program for your own use but keep the zip file so you can resell it.

Now a couple of things as to resale. If you plan to resell the product open the php files and look for email addresses. If you bought from me, mine will be there or I might have just left those that came with the digital file. You will want to change these to your own Yahoo email or website email. Do not use your personal email. You do this so that you capture the address of the customer and not the person who sold it to you. If you leave my email I will be notified when a purchase is made. If I were of a mind I could then contact the buyer and offer them similar stuff. You do not want that to happen. You are telling people their email is safe and in order for you to live up to that you need to make sure that email goes to no one but you.

If you plan to resell, create a premier account at Paypal so you can accept credit cards. Take the graphic of the credit cards off my site or Paypal's so people can see what cards are accepted and then place a 'click here to purchase' with a link to Paypal's pay page. In the php you will find my Paypal pay address or the original that the program came with. Either way, Replace it with your own Paypal address or the original company or I am going to get paid for your sale. Though I will know who sent it I won't have a clue as to who it belongs to, so yes you will not get paid. remember not to sell yourself shot by pricing to low. Consider what you think it is worth to you and price accordingly. Sometimes you can make up in volume what you lose in price but sometimes the price is right and you can say to hell with volume cause there is not that much demand.

Ok that is about all I'm going to say of this. Hopefully by the time you get around to getting a web host and start selling on your own you will have a basic understanding of ftp and some html and most of your questions of websites and downloading can be answered by your webhost. 

I suppose there is one other thing you should know. Most who get into resale of digital media just take the download, place it on a web of their own and change nothing but the email and pay to lines. If you want to differentiate yourself from the thousands of identical sites out there to achieve a higher page rank you need to add some content of your own. If there are a thousand sites all selling the same thing with the same webpage then the search engines are going to place you at the bottom of the heap. If you want to rise above the rest you need to place some content in there that is different and make sure you place a description and keywords in the meta tags that will reflect some of those changes.

You'll probably find what I have said here of more value than what you will pay for in the digital media I offer for sale. But each of us has our knowledge and lack thereof and though some may find some information skimpy or rehashing what they already knew others will find it very insightful. If you are looking to build an affiliate market then you can never have enough sources. There is one link in the Texas Hold-em ebook that is incredible as far as what it offers and the prices it asks. I have thought of making it my premier go to place for material
